Our Torah Restoration program was held from Sunday 6/7 through Tues., 6/9. Rabbi Saul Teitelbaum of Monsey, NY came to restore our 4 Torahs, which he estimates to be over 150 years old, and from Poland. He had last worked on them in 1996. On Sunday, Rabbi Teitelbaum spoke to the Sunday School students in the morning, and in the afternoon, we hosted an open house, where members of the congregation and the greater community came to observe the Rabbi and ask questions. He was very mirthful and informative. On Monday and Tuesday evenings, congregants - who sponsored the restoration of a letter, word or verse of their choice - met with the Rabbi to "help" him "write" the Torah, thus performing an important Mitzvah.
